To set up an effective Spill Control and Containment Area, first identify spill risks by assessing stored liquids, determining potential spill volume, and identifying high-risk zones.  Use appropriate containment solutions like Spill Pallets, Spill Trays, Containment Berms, Flexible Liners, and Drain Covers to prevent leaks from spreading.  Stock essential Spill Control products, including Spill Kits (oil-only, universal, chemical), Absorbents (Absorbent Booms, Absorbent Pads, Granules – whichever you use more frequent), Salvage / Overpack drums, and PPE (gloves, goggles, respirators).  Store hazardous liquids in FM Approved Safety Cabinets or Steel Pallets, use Secondary Containment for bulk liquid storage, and label all containers properly. Train employees on spill response procedures, conduct regular drills, and ensure they know the locations of Spill Kits, PPE & other relevant accessories.
